We are a Guatemalan NGO, located in the town of San Andrés Itzapa, Chimaltenango. We began in 1997 with the work of a group of Canadians from the PEDAL organization. And as a legacy to Guatemalan development, the Maya Pedal Association was established in 2001. We use parts from used bicycles to build Bicimachanas that we give to individuals and groups at subsidized prices. We support small self-sustainable projects in order to preserve or improve the environment, health, productivity and economy of families in rural areas.
Share experiences through educational media, magazines, newspapers and others about pedal technology.
Be a self-sufficient technology without dependence on energy sources such as electricity, fossil fuels or industrial agricultural techniques.
